PAXMAN SCALP COOLING
University project, final year at the University of Leeds. A tablet dashboard for nurses and service engineers, based on Paxman Scalp Cooling’s system and using fictional patient data.
What I learnt from user testing with students and lecturers was simple and clean is less overstimulating, the less clicks to reach the intended data, the better so I stuck with a maximum of 3-4 clicks to reach a specific data point. I also simplified the general layout keeping it simple and predicable, design without intent, purely for aesthetic and not considering the specific target user is pointless and creates more issues than solutions.

Decision Making through user testing

BUBL
Final year project, PDES Award. A handheld wellness device with three simple interactions: shake for gratitude, hold to find calm, tap to send someone a haptic moment of care. I ran the project from user research through prototyping and testing, designed the interactions, and built the on-device interface in C with LVGL on an ESP32-S3 touchscreen. I also mapped its compliance requirements and positioned it as a wellness product. Presented at the New Designers Graduate Showcase, London 2026.
